Maybe you're thinking, "High school was a barren hellhole of adolescent awkwardness and ennui, why would I want to go back?" Yeah, but what if you could go return to those days, knowing what you know now, and find the rich, beautiful, popular kids and hurt them? Really make them suffer and humiliate them! You'd go then, wouldn't you? Well, that's apparently what many writers want to do (you know the type, didn't date much in school) and they have a lot of free time for revenge fantasies. "Mean Girls" is just such a visit to the teenage wasteland, but all is not bitter vindictiveness. It's a journey with wit, heart, humor, AND vengeance! Not a perfect film, but enjoyable enough (although if you were a prom king or queen and took it very seriously, you may find it pointed just a little bit too much at you). It also has a tidy, happy ending, and not too much bloodshed (just kidding!).
