What it is: National Novel Writing Month is November 1 - 30th.
NaNoWriMo.org sponsors an event where participants write 50,000-word novels completely within the month of November. I learned about it on November 1, 2003, and since I was living in Alaska at the time, I had nothing better to do than write a novel that month.
