Chicago
I don't much care for musicals. There's nothing wrong with them, they're a valid theatrical choice. I think people are born either liking or not liking them, and that's fine. Sure, I experimented a little in college, who doesn't? I'm not ashamed to admit I was in a production of "HMS Pinafore." It just didn't do much for me. So I usually leave musicals for those who really like them.
So when I say I enjoyed "Chicago," it's more than just modest praise. I haven't seen the stage version, so I can't compare. Maybe purists will hate the film version. I just know that I particularly liked the Tango number. And Catherine Zeta-Jones. And Rene Zellweger. I suppose to fulfill my goal of giving the reader an experience of the movie, this review should be done as a song with a flashy dance routine, but I'm not up to that. Let me just say that if you like musicals, check it out. If you don't like musicals but your date wants to go, chances are you'll have more fun that you'd expect. Of course, if you think musicals are an abomination of nature, stay home and rent a Rob Schnieder movie. (And Richard Gere can sing and dance? Who knew?)
If you liked the movies below, you'll probably like this one (and visa versa):
