BOUND
Last time you were at the video store you were probably thinking "If only there was a thriller where lesbians steal millions from gangsters." Well, lucky you, there is! Being a thriller, I don't want to give away too much of the plot, but I can tell you this is not a date move (unless your date really likes gory interrogations, enough dead bodies to be Shakespearean, and hot lesbian sex). If you like the tension of a good plan going awry (of course it goes awry; if it didn't, this film would be about thirty minutes long with as much dramatic tension as "Touched by an Angel"), and sitting on the edge of your seat to find out who ends up with the money, check it out. Be aware of a couple things: Some scenes are brutal. "Bound" is to noir as "Mulholland Drive" is to surreal. If you can handle this, and you liked "Body Heat" but wished that William Hurt wasn't a guy, then this film is for you.
