Web Log Entry #0087, Wednesday, October 15, 2003: Day 331
Anchorage Sunrise: 8:40am Sunset: 6:49pm High Temp: 48° Low Temp: 30° Today, I got The Call. The client will let me go home at the end of the month. I took the news calmly, but secretly, I was elated! I was going home! No matter that I had no other work lined up, I would be back in Portland! I would spend fifty weeks in Anchorage, and that seemed a nice, round number. This joy lasted ten minutes. Then another call. Apparently there were multiple conversations going on, and Tim had jumped the gun. The new word was that the client wanted me around until the end of December. They weren't exactly sure yet what I'd be doing, but they didn't want to let me go, since there was still money in the budget. I think I took it well, and he couldn't hear the disappointment in my voice. I know it's better to be working, but I was going HOME.
