MOOSE! I SAW A MOOSE! THEY'RE REAL! It was warm this morning, and an easy drive to work. As I pass the courtyard in front of the office, I think "Strange, I don't remember a moose statue in the front area." So then the "statue" turns its head, and it's a MOOSE! He's eating the trees, which I'm told is something that moose do (I actually suspect that he was planted there by the Government to make me think that moose actually wander through urban Anchorage). Well, I watched him for a few minutes. He gave me a look, but mostly ignored me. I figured I wouldn't get eaten in so public a place, but I stayed well back, just in case. It was very "Northern Exposure." I was told later that he was a young moose, but I couldn't help think, "Damn, he's big." His neck was at my eye level. So how many places in this country does one encounter a half-ton animal wandering the streets?
