Evan's Eyes

Web Log Entry #0049, Monday, March 3, 2003: Day 105

Anchorage Sunrise: 7:55am Sunset: 6:28pm High Temp: 46° Low Temp: 39°

I'm exhausted. I got home at 1:30 last night, after a whirlwind trip to Portland and the Oregon Coast. Originally I was going home to visit with Arwen for her birthday. It expanded to a beach weekend with all the Nichols Siblings plus Nephew Corwin, and between ten and a hundred other people (I lost count). It wasn't really an Alaskan part of my adventures, so I won't go on too much about it, but I do have to note something about young Corwin. He's fifteen months old, and when he wants something, or is frustrated, or annoyed, or there's nobody paying attention to him at that exact moment (if he's not trying to go somewhere he shouldn't), he expresses himself by saying "UHHHH!" with increasing volume and intensity. This may sound like a typical toddler, but he does it in a way that CLEARLY demonstrates an advanced level of mental development. And I say that with the impartial objectivity of a journalist (which I'm not, but I am related to one, which is almost the same thing).
